Beautiful day!! We are determined to stay in shape throughout
this trip so what better way to start the day then a 45 minute run!
Wow – it was good to do but we feel it!!!! So we take it easy for
the rest of the morning and do our first load of laundry – instead
of using a machine we have a spicket and a basin. Verdict: the
clothes smell good but the food stain on my pants still isn't out so
next time the machine in New Zealand. We decide to rent a scooter
for a couple of days so that we can explore the island. A scooter is
perfect for island life – we were able to stop quickly to see
whatever we wanted. Mike is a great scooter driver! Mark describes
Moorea as paradise and we have to agree with him it's the most
beautiful island we have ever been. The pics speak for themselves.
Moorea is so amazing because it's so untouched – not a lot of
buildings – one main road (no traffic lights) and very light
traffic. There are also no signs of pollution anywhere – the water
is so clear and no trash in it. We did some swimming and snorkeling
at the beach today and saw the most amazing fish that I have ever
seen – neon colors: one fish had black and white stripes but also
hot pink and blue dots. Beautiful. Unfortunately we don't have an
underwater camera with us and we vow to get one before our next
island.

Interesting Factoid: we saw a lot of people burning piles –
this is done for 2 reasons: one to ward away the mosquitoes (huge
issue) and two because certain types of wood and the coconut fiber
will not deteriorate any other way.
