22 July Wednesday night: Our place at Ralph's is nice and clean –
although no hot water, which is going to be a difficult thing for me
throughout this trip because I LOVE taking showers with hot water. We
met two guys when we arrived – Sebastian and Vincent both French,
Sebastian is a surfer and is looking for work in Tahiti and Vincent
took a 6 month sabbatical from his job as a structural engineer.
The view here is spectacular – water for miles and the island of
Moorea to the right. There is not a lot of beach, but there is an
area to stick your feet in the water. Looking out on the water Ralph
(our landlord) told us that Tahiti hadn't had rain in 3 weeks as we
looked at a huge rain cloud headed toward us – we knew it was going
to rain today – at least Mike and I are good luck – of course the
day we arrive it rains! So we decided to skip the water and go into
town but not before Carla attempted to break open a coconut (check
out the video!)

Oh I'm SO jealous! Chris and I always said we'd do something big on our 10 year like go to Tahiti....I guess you could say we are doing something big!! :) Your travels look amazing! What an opportunity!
