New York – Highlands – May 2009

Off to New York again and it has now been a year since I started going there. I have changed my life since I went in May 2008. I was then very tired and burnt out and I have now changed where I work. My new place is much better with a good atmosphere. I also only work part time so I have time for me and my kids. Sure, I do not make so much money, but the progressive tax scale in Sweden makes it less worth working more. This trip I also went on a "mini-vacation" to Highlands in New Jersey with my girlfriend.
Not so much talk this time, but loads of pics. I only mention some of the places I went to. Farm 2 bistro in Nutley was great with clean and locally produced food. Friendly, a bit hippie, staff. Good stuff J. My old time favorite Le Bateau Ivre served the best cheese with fruit and honey and together with wine, it was a winner. For delicate French snacks and good wine, LBI is hard to beat. Sushi house of Hoboken served really nice Sushi and had nice atmosphere. The Sea Food Bar at Copenhagen with Prunier Caviar, seafood and truffles vodka… Say no more. Just heaven (and a lot poorer lol). Speaking of seafood, Highlands is a great place to have seafood with very good prices. Fresh and local stuff. Clam hut, the Inlet Café and Windansea were all really good. The bed and breakfast Seascape manor in Highlands was so nice with pretty rooms and a breakfast to kill for (different egg menus and homemade muffins). I also got a good Thai massage in my room.
I just have to mention Mo's too. It is the best place to buy sportswear. They have so good prices, also on brand names.
Check out List of places for more info.
Ciao
