Yesterday the preschoolers spent most of the morning in the new classroom practicing for the opening. This involved doing the Hokey Pokey at least 5times and practicing their sinhala song. By next week they should be experts! Today they had a short band practice and practiced more songs.
There were no classes for the afterschoolers yesterday, instead they all chipped in to clean the place for the team arriving. I spent most of the afternoon clearing my room and realized how much junk I had accumulated over the last 5months! A black bag full of rubbish and a half packed rucksack later, the room was ready for 2 more team members! The afterschoolers today practiced their dancing and singing for the opening as well.
The excitement of today was the team arrived so the house is now full to the brim. The preschoolers welcomed them with flowers and a mixture of Sinhala and English songs. Four of the team will be staying on until next March/April and the other 3 will be traveling back with us. It's surreal as some of them have been reading my blog so know about me and what's been happening!
