Apparently today is known as "Children's Day" throughout the world. However I've never heard of it in my life. It's a day set aside for kids to enjoy themselves so this meant we had a different day.

After breakfast, the preschoolers where taken down to the local park to spend the morning there. As Ronali is down, we were able to take them in the van. It's a 9 seater van, yet we were able to take 29 children and 4 adults down in only 2runs! What's great about here is we just got up and went, it wasn't arranged. There's no such thing as consent forms or informing parents of the child's whereabouts! The kids were treated to a free ice lolly courtesy of Food City, who took some nice publicity shots of them pushing children on the swings. We also bought them some chocolate and a balloon each. They go crazy for balloons over here-keeps them entertained for hours!

The afterschoolers were taken to the next town, to a beautiful place overlooking the sea. After an initial rainstorm, they all got out and ran about. Most surreal moment for me was me dancing Sri Lankan style, with Namil, on top of a hill, to ringtones on my phone!  You couldn't write the script! Also they all wanted to race- I don't think I've taken part in a running race since p7 sports day only this time I didn't come last!

All in all it was a brilliant day - I think it should be introduced to UK!
