Flag of Sri Lanka  ,
Sunday, September 30, 2007

Today started off on a bad note. To set the scene, I hate rats and mice, they are my worse nightmare! Was sitting outside this morning and a crow was perched on a tree with something in it's mouth. Of course I go for a closer inspection on;y to find it's a dead rat! Immediately ran in the house and was comteplating booking my flight back to Belfast! I liked it when I was indenial and believed that there are no rodents in Sri Lanka, but now i've seen one (albeit dead), that means there has to be at least one more about. I set on the edge of the seat for 30minutes trying to get over my trumatic event. Rodrick's down for a few days and was very reassuring as he sat laughing in the corner! I'm buying mouse traps tomorrow that will cover m y room from top to bottom!

Again, i was outsid ein the afternoon when a snake crawled out in front of me. I have no worries about them whatsoever so quite happily followed it around the garden until it creeped into some enclosure. The builders then came out in force to try and hunt it down but it escaped to live another day.

Headed to the beach late afternoon and as always came back wet and covered head to toe in sand. Entertained ourselves this evening by looking through the personal ads in the local newspaper. It's all Buddhist families looking for suitable spouses for their sons/daughthers. We've got 5 possibilities lined up for Mark now as well as his personal ad written.

Tomorrow after church we are going fishing after taking a notion to go this afternoon. I say it'll be 10mins before i'm bored! Hopefully they'll be fish for tea!
