It's hard to believe that's the first week of the school holidays over.  It seems like only yesterday that we were all running around at the sports days. I know we are in a different time zone over here, but sometimes I think time goes at a faster speed as well.

Yesterday we visited a home for the blind. Ronali used to take services there when she lived in Hambantota. It's surroundings are beautiful. It's by a lake where the residents bath and wash. It's so peaceful and relaxing. We met some of the residents and one man treated us to some keyboard playing.  He wanted us to sing along. Luckily for him and everyone else within hearing distance, we didn't know very many words. I think we'll definitely be back though.

On the way back we stopped at the beach again and again came soaking and covered in sand. Our trips to the beach have become more war like with everyone trying to push each other into the sea - some stay on their feet more than others! It's not like the beach at Portrush, waves came in from the side, behind you and in front of you - in all directions! Great fun though. And you can't beat a barbequed corn on the cob after, even if it is covered in sand!

Today we went to a lovely restaurant in Tissa (next town) for a farewell lunch as Ronali and family are heading back to Colombo.  Anywhere that serves Nutella pancakes for dessert is a winner in my books!

Next Friday to Sunday we are helping with a Bible Club so no doubt the guitar will make an appearance. It from early morning to late night and all the children stay in the church.  It should be good fun!!
