If I had one word to describe today, it would probably be random! A new funny song was introduced to both the preschool and afterschoolers. It's call "Making Melodies". The words are simple "Making melodies in my heart (x3), to the King of Kings" only each time an action is added while they sing. It's hilarious. So by the end of the song they are singing it with their thumbs up, knees in, bums out, turning around, nodding their heads and with their tongues out - all at once! It is at times like these that I'm sure people are wondering if it was wise allowing me to be let loose on the kids of Sri Lanka! Anyway there was fits of laughter so all enjoyed - as they say back home, it was the best craic!

Preschool again spent most of the day practicing for next weeks Sports Day. One of the games is a fishing game where they have to catch their fish and then run to the finishing line. A boy called Barnuka won this and was as pleased as punch! I was so happy for him - felt like a proud mother. He's a kid who has some behavioral problems and finds it hard to concentrate. So it was such a big thing for him to win. I hope he does on the day!!

Today the afterschoolers had a fun day after their week of exams. We brought out the parachute, which is a large sheet of fabric that they all hold onto and lift it up and down. Put a ball on top of it and it keeps them entertained. They also enjoyed some "duck, duck, goose" and "Making Melodies".

The other exciting thing that happened today was Cable TV was installed which means the 11weeks without TV has come to and end!! Think we have about 13 channels now.

Tonight is going to be a DVD with jelly and ice-cream - yes we really are just 3 big kids!!
