apparently when it rains, the nuumber of children that come drops. this was definitely the case. there were only 23 at preschool and i had 5 in my afterschool class. The poor wee preschoolers had to stay indoors the whole morning, but i have never known them to be so quiet! they sent for nearly 90mins playing with jigsaws, bricks, lego...they were fascinated. it was great to see, altho i did break out in a sweat when they ask for help as i am hopeless at jigsaws! however we got there eventually-probably would have been sooner without me
i thinnk i am starting to notice a difference in the children's behaviour and also how they relate to me when i have to tell them off. it used to be that they just laughed and copied me - they were probably think "what's that crazy lady doing trying to speak Sinhala?"! But they are more receptive now, which is good. Definitely an answer to prayer
Tomorrow is the Buddhist holiday "Poya" to mark the full moon. We don't know how people mark it but everywhere closes. we were planning to head to the rainforest tomorrow, but have to go next weekend as we couldn't get a car and driver due the the holiday.
