This is now the start of my 4th week - that alone is scary!! Time is flying! I've noticed that the Preschool is starting to become more controlled and a routine is being established. When I started, the 1st thing I observed was there was little structured play; the children were mainly left to their own devices. So here's a typical preschool day
845am - 9am - they start with exercise. Stretching, jumping, running, pretending to be animals!

9am - 930am - breakfast. Not cornflakes but rice and curry, or noodles or something equally random! A typical Sri Lankan breakfast

930am - 10am - unstructured play. Usually involves them running around, kicking a ball etc

10am-1030am - this is usually my English time. I read a story and then sing a song or do the hokey pokey...something English anyway!!

1030-1130 - this is the time they are split into their 2 classes. They usually do some arts and crafts.

1130am - 1215pm - structured play. Things like "Simon says", "musical statues". Also a few Singlase nursery rhymes are thrown in at some point

1215pm - 1pm - lunchtime and goodbye for another day!

So that's my morning!! Afterschoolers arrive at different times as they come straight from school but they have lunch from 2pm-245pm and then split into their classes from 245pm - 4pm.

As I have started to feel that I'm becoming lazy, I felt the need to walk down to "food city" after school. To tell the truth, the main motivation was because I wanted ice-cream to go with my jelly!
