So today was my first "official" day of having an afternoon class. I'll have a different class on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday. Wednesday is slightly different as I'm told they have a "creative" afternoon. I think they sing, dance, have some drama etc. Will be interesting to see - I'll maybe pick up a traditional Sri Lankan dance, if such a thing exists!

Today went well. With the preschool I'm teaching them "if you're happy and you know it clap your hands". If we repeat it everyday, verse by verse, I'm sure they'll soon pick it up. Was going to attempt "What time is it Mr Wolf" but decided I would need to explain it to the teachers first as they will have to translate the instructions to the kids. That can be tomorrows venture-it can't be that difficult....can it?!

This week I'm going with the theme of "body parts" with the older ones. I think I'll do a theme a week. So far I've thought of seasons, moods, days of the week, animals, transport etc. They always recite the alphabet and count to 20 as well, just to keep up to speed with the basics! So it looks like a week of "head and shoulders" and drawing and labeling faces. So far so good, although as always, there are a few boys who you need to keep an eye on!

There's been no weird or wonderful sightings of wildlife today - just the good old mosquitoes. Renalli and Rod are coming tomorrow - Renalli until Thursday and Rod until Sunday/Monday. Then our new housemate (translator) is coming on Friday after his driving test. To be fair, from experiencing their driving, you wouldn't think Sri Lankans took driving tests, but apparently they do! It'll be good to see a few different faces about the place.
