Even though I'm from Finland and used to riding my bike to school with temperatures beyond -20 c as a child, I must say that winter in Russia is something else. As we lived by the river Neva, our way to the university was rather windy and cold. The apartment was cold as well but we got an extra heater and slept with lots of blankets and clothes. Me and Tanja stayed more indoors in the extreme weather but Timo was brave enough to explore the city and take some pictures. These pics I got from him, many thanks Timo!
In the first pictures you can see where we lived: the blue building in the middle of the Kutuzova Embarkment. The other pictures are taken close to our place and on our way to the university.
