One day visit to grey and rainy Kuopio. The city and its surrounding are really green and there are lots of lakes: one third of the total area of the city is waters and a half forests. The biggest lake surrounding the city is called Lake Kallavesi. The city is ideal for relaxed summer holidays. Don't forget to visit the market place and try out a piece of kalakukko, Finnish fish pasty.

King Gustav III of Sweden ordered the establishment of the city in 1775. Kuopio is the 8th largest town in Finland with about 90 000 inhabitants.
