What a week. The Pink Palace hostel has to be one of the craziest places in the world. Just to give an idea of what this place is like. A group of us arrived at 6am in the morning and while we were going through check in and the rules the barman brings us all a shot of ouzo to have. Not really what the body wants after a long bus ride but hey, ill try anything.

The first night was pretty quiet for me after drinking beers for a couple of hours the bus trip caught up with me so I managed to get a good nights rest, but that's the last solid sleep i got for the rest of my stay. The following day I met a guy from Melbourne and a Canadians bloke who were trying to get enough people together to the quad safari. That sounded like a better way to spend the day than just sitting on the beach so I joined up and we were taken around the island for the day thrashing the bike on dirt roads, going full throttle on down the highway and just having a good time. We went to the highest point on the island which had a great view over the entire area.

Pretty much, for the rest of my time in Corfu the days would involve going to various beaches on the island on the quad bikes, one day in particular the surf was awesome and we spent about 3 hours body surfing in water that was so blue and the temperature couldn't have been any more perfect. The nights were spent drinking long island ice teas which cost about 5 bucks Australia and these drinks called the groove shot. Note to all readers do not drink a groove shot unless you are planning on having a massive night on the drink. They consist of 5 shots of alcohol in a glass which you must drink in one go then follow it with a red bull chaser. Its like going from 0 to 100 in seconds. It really would screw people around. I think I drank around 3 or 4 groove shots over the course of my stay and that was plenty. 1 night I drank 2 in one night and after the second one I was ready to pass out and for some reason I decided to bypass 1 perfectly good bed and pass out on the balcony???

By the end of my 5 nights I was ready to leave, my body had enough. Getting the shakes in the morning and not being able to pour milk into my coffee without spilling it was a good indication that I should move on to Italy. Also the fact that I averaged around 2 hours sleep a night for the majority of my stay.

Must thank those two Canadians girls Julie and Becca for all the good laughs and for introducing me to the great game of foosball. Also Mike and Troy, no better guys to hang out with and thrash quad bikes all over Corfu with. And last but not least my roommate Ian who drank everyone under the table every night and had to put up with drunken ramblings at 4am.

Bye Bye pink palace, had an awesome time and will be back one day once by liver has made a full recovery, which may take a little while.
