From Mto Wa Mbu it was off to the Ngorongoro crater. We always thought this was a national park but we found out when we got there that it is not. There are Masai people who live in the crater so it cannot be made into a national park. The animals that are in the crater were put there by man and so there is no migration through the area. We did see a lot of Thompson Gazelles, Zebras and Wildabeasts. It is a very flat area inside the crater so the animals were easy to spot. We could not take our big truck into the crater so instead we split into 2 groups and had smaller jeeps. It was nice because we could all see out and we could stand up in the truck and see out (the roof lifted up). Our driver (Noel) was really good and kept finding interesting things for us to look at. We got a couple of good photos too!
