Hello all:

Sandy and I began our Odyssey across the West today.  As you can see in the opening photo, we packed everything we owned, and some stuff we rented.  In the picture, Sandy is holding "Ken", our travel mascot.  Ken stood guard over the kitchen table at Ken Tool North Ridgeville, and he retired the same time I did.  Since we didn't have room for a litter box, Sandy couldn't bring a cat, so Ken, who has a remarkable ability to go without restroom breaks, will be our companion for the next 30 days.

The trip from Cleveland to Terre Haute was easy, but boring.  We have traveled most of the route a number of times, and the rest was flat.

The courthouse in Downtown Terre Haute was really beautiful.  The only other redeeming quality of the town is Rose Hulman Institute. It is a very pretty campus on the outskirts of town, and Alma Mater of my High School buddy, Jim Doolittle.  When jim went there it was Rose Polytechnic Institute (or Roscoe Poly).  Jim, how did you ever make it all the way here in your Morgan before the Interstate highway?

Tomorrow it off to Kansas City via St Louis.  Stay Tuned
