On Saturday we woke up early to try and make the park opening at 8am. Unfortunately every man and his dog had the same idea so it took a while to get there. First you have to drive to the car park. Then you have to wait for a tram. THEN you have to catch the monorail. It takes over half an hour for all of that.

First thing we did was have breakfast at "The Crystal Palace" with Winnie the Pooh characters. Got to take photos with all the characters apart from Stu's favourite which is apparently "Rabbit". Who the hell likes Rabbit?!

We then went outside and caught the "Move It! Shake It! Celebrate It! Street Party" parade. There was a whole lot of dancing. Far too early to "shake it" in my opinion.

We walked over to the new part of Magic Kingdom called "Fantasyland". They've built the Beast's castle there along with other Beauty and the Beast themed things. They're currently building a massive dwarfs mine coaster right in the middle.

We lined up for "Enchanted Tales with Belle" and got in pretty quickly considering the wait time was over an hour. It wasn't a ride exactly. It was a storytelling thing where Belle comes out and reenacts falling in love with the Beast with people from the audience. Stu was lucky enough to be chosen to be a knight!

When then got a sneaky photo with Gaston who was a douchebag - just like in the movie!

We lined up for "Haunted Mansion" which we'd done at Disneyland before but it's a cool ride.

It was time to finally try the famous turkey leg! At over $10 a leg, we decided we'd share. It was...interesting. And chewy.

We caught "Hall of Presidents" show which is a cool presentation about U.S Presidents followed by a very fancy "puppet" show. They've recreated all the presidents on stage as puppets that move, talk and blink. They look very real.

We used our Fast Pass for "Under the Sea Journey of The Little Mermaid" which saw us get on the ride quick smart. It's a brand new ride. Very cute. You follow Ariel and Eric's love story on a boat, under the sea.

I just can't seem to shake this extreme fatigue I've been feeling lately so we had to go back to the room for a couple of hours so I could nap. The park was going to be open until 1am so that gave us plenty of time.

When we went back we went on the "Jungle Cruise", "Pirates of the Caribbean" and "Enchanted Tiki Room" in Adventureland.

We then found a spot that didn't have a thousand people in it (it is SOOOOO busy) and watched the fireworks. We even got to catch a glimpse of Tinkerbell flying down from the castle.

At 10pm we saw the "Main Street Electrical Parade". They turn all the lights off and have this amazing parade that lights up.

To finish the night off we went to Tomorrowland and went on "Stitch's Great Escape", the famous "Space Mountain" which we lined up for over an hour for, and "Astro Orbiter".

Today we went back into the Magic Kingdom park at about lunch time because we couldn't avoid doing our laundry any longer.

We ate at the Art of Animation Hall and headed over at about 1pm.

We saw a parade ("Celebrate a Dream Come True") in the afternoon, went on a bunch of rides including the Dumbo ride (finally!!!), Big Thunder Railroad, It's a Small World and Aladdin's Magic Carpets.

Again, I felt really tired so we left at about 6pm and had dinner at an Irish Pub at Downtown Disney which was nice.

Tomorrow - Animal Kingdom!

I just wanted to quickly mention a few funny quotes I've heard these past few days too.

------------------------------------------------------
*While lining up for the Astro Orbitor*

Boy: Hey mom, look! I'm gonna throw a booger at the castle!
Mom: You're a weirdo.
------------------------------------------------------
*While lining up for the ferry*

Woman: You have to be nice to your subjects and let them go to sleep so they can play with you tomorrow.
Girl (whispers to her mother): Mother, I know how to take care of my subjects!

Louise on

Given that we were there 18 years ago I was pleasantly pleased to see some familiar streetscapes etc in your photos. If they still have the It's a Small World" ride only go on it if you are prepared to have the tune going around in your head for days and days. Even just mentioning it here brings it all flooding back. You both look as though you are really enjoying yourselves - keep up the good work.

On a more serious note Carol & Graham wanted you to have their phone number - just in case - so here it is 850-592-1345
