We had arranged to stay with Kate and Al Reed near Byron Bay. They are renting a wonderful house to the north of Byron. It is a very short walk to the beach. I don't know how long the beach is, but you can’t see either end and you have it pretty much all to yourself.

I was very anxious to try out my new (actually it is second hand) 7’-11" McCoy Nugget surfboard, so off we went. You know it’s a good wave session when an hour later water unsuspectingly starts to flow out of your nasal passages.

Al kicked my butt in chess and we all had our fill of the Wizard card game. Lisa and Kate went to the markets on Sunday. Al and I got in a short fishing attempt from the beach, but were unable to land any Tailor. Ventured into the town of Byron Bay as well as Brunswick Heads. Cool places; they must be crazy in the summer months.
