3 nights on Ko Phi Phi was enough for me so I headed off to another island called Ko Lanta. Fisrt things first I couldn't leave without having some delicious pancakes....this time I decided to mix it up a bit....instead of banana and chocolate I went fancy and had banana and honey....they were very very tasty. The boat ride was about an hr and I had already booked a bungalow at the internet cafe in Ko Phi Phi. You never know what these places are until you show up however I wasn't in the mood in shopping around for bungalows in this heat.

Once I arrived I was shuttled to my resort called the " Dream Team Resort". I was very impressed with this place...for only 1500 baht I had a very nice bungalow in a nice garden. This was by far the best place I have stayed so far. The accommodation was good, the staff were great and the food top notch. This island is fairly large and I didn't see many taxi's cruising around so I decided to rent a scooter. Can't remember the cost but I think it was 200 baht/day dirt cheap. I was given the Spiderman scooter and off I went. Been awhile since I drove one of these so I was a little rusty. I went for a short ride, found a place to eat then headed back home for the night.

The next day I decided to tour the island a bit. My confidence was getting higher driver the scooter so I decided to give it more gas. Life was great and the weather was awesome however my spidy senses were tingling...being on the spidy bike and all. Well I had a little accident :) followed with a bit of road rash. I got into some gravel and lost it. Ya I wasn't hurt too much except for my pride. There was no damage to the motorbike...I prefer to call it a motorbike like the Thais do as well....it sounds more manly than a scooter. I headed straight to the beach and went swimming in the ocean to clean up all the scrapes...I happened to stumble upon a very nice beach that was fairly quiet. SoI guess it was meant to be. This beach had great swimming and nice sand with a few restaurants.

Following day I went on another snorkeling trip. This time I took a speed boat. We cruised out to this one island and did a bunch of snorkeling around the island followed by a few hrs on the beach. I believe this island was called Ko Mak but I have to look that up. This island had the most beautiful beach I have ever seen. Powder white sand and it seemed to be very clean. There was no bungalows or restaurants on this small island however you could arrange to camp there. If I ever come back this way I would love to do that.  Again another great day of snorkeling one of the best days of the trip so far.

I couldn't pass up another deep sea fishing trip so I booked it. There was only 5 of us on this "real" fishing boat as opposed to the one I took in Ko Chang. We were going after the big sail fish etc...Things were slow for the first hr or 2 when one of the rods had one on. A Swedish guy picked it up and reeled the fish in....the big catch was maybe a 3 pound tuna lol.....what was even worse this was the only fish caught the whole day but thats fishing for you. It was still a good day...we did go swimming and snorkeling and the scenery was great...sure beats a day in the office.

My final night in Ko Lanta I went out for a nice seafood dinner. I think it was called Seafood Korae??? This dish was served on a wood burning fire. They gave me a plate of raw seafood and a pan to put over the fire along with water and some vegetables. Around the rim of the pan that was indented out you put the veggies, some egg and water. This creates a nice Thai soup. On the indented part you cook your seafood. I had prawns, squid and barracuda. This was by far the best meal I have had here. It cost me 350 baht. This would of easily cost $50-$60 back home.

I really like Ko Lanta. The beaches were very nice, the island was big. I found it to be fairly quiet as well. My 4 nights here went very fast.

I caught a boat back to Phuket were I stayed one more night. I ended up drinking a lot more Thai Whiskey that night. The next morning wasn't too bad. I caught a flight to Bangkok were I will spend 2 nights before going home.
