Sorry for the delay on the blog. To be honest I've been too lazy to bother with it. It's tough traveling, drinking beer, eating delicious pancakes and finding the time to use the Internet.

I made my way to Phuket on Bangkok Airways. Knowing it was my last night in Pattaya I had to hit the town. Chang Beers for 30 Baht are too hard to turn down. I can sit at the bar all day and people watch. For the past few years I have slowed down on the beer consumption. With this heat and no need to drive anywhere I have made up for all the lost beer time.

My flight left Phuket at 12:40 pm so I arranged to have a ride to pick me up at 11:00 am. I had a hard time getting up...nothing unusual as this is the norm even on a work day. You would think a free breakfast would motivate me. I thought an 1 1/2hr to the airport would be plenty of time. The lady at reception said it was only 1/2 hr away. My ride shows up at 11:15 and he tells me its 50-60 minutes away. So he steps on it and I make it there for 12:20 just in time to catch my flight. Neat little airplane painted with fish....for an 1 1/2hr flight I even got a meal...not bad for 3000 baht.

I booked a room online at the Summerside Inn. Well I meant to book a room at the Summerside Hotel...same same but not.The hotel I wanted to book was right on Patong Beach in the heart of all the action. The room I ended up in was in some Thai Village outside of Phuket Town. I didn't sweat it....just go with the flow you never know how things can turn out. This Inn is very small with 5 rooms and is run by a Thai family. A nice little place and the people were very friendly. He picked me up at the airport holding a sign with my name on it...I felt important. He then helped me book boat tickets and a Bungalow on Ko Phi Phi. Unless I wanted to rent a scooter I was stuck in this Thai community so that night I decided to stick around. I was shown to a nice seafood restaurant on the beach. This was the first time on my trip where I had problems communicating. Nobody spoke English and I didn't have my book with me to help me out. I ended up ordering 2 dishes that I had no idea what they were until it showed up. I was surprised...I had some dish with prawns that were fresh. They picked them out as soon as i ordered them...doesn't get better than that. I also had some Thai salad that was damn hot but good. I washed it down with a large Chang beer. All in all not bad for 250 baht.

Next day I went to the aquarium and then to the main beach of Patong. What a shit show this place was. I never did see a Thai person the whole time i was there. Lots of Aussies, Canadians, Brits etc. I didn't really like the place but it had a McDonald's. I caught a taxi back to the Inn cost me 500 baht...thats expensive but took me an hour to get home. Once I arrived home I was invited for a few drinks outside with the Thai locals. It was Friday night so all the neighbors were outside socializing. The little girls were running around poking me and teasing me but it was all in fun..i think lol. I had a few beers then the Thai Whiskey came out. Went down great but it took me a few days to get over that stuff. The following morning I took a boat to the Island of Ko Phi Phi. I have booked a night at the Summerside Inn on my way back. This place turned out to be a nice place.

So all in all nothing too exciting. I will post on Ko Phi Phi later then Ko Lanta where I'm at right now. Also I will post a few pictures and videos when I get to a better computer and cheaper. This 2 baht/min is going to bust the bank.
