Salta greeted us with rain and cold, for a place that is known for continual sun, we lucked out.  It was pretty good timing though, because we needed a down day to make some future plans and catch up on some business (school, banking, blogging).  That afternoon, we went out to the MAAM (Museo de Arqueologia de Alta Montana).  The main attraction are the 3 mummified children which were found at the world's highest archaeological site - the 6,600-meter peak of
Argentina's Mount Llullaillaco.  It was a brief view of ancient Inca history preceded by an insanely long line.  The long line was due to another stroke of luck, we caught the normally AR$ 35 museum on International Museum Day (there's one of those?).

The next day we headed for Cafayate for some more wine tasting and outdoor sights.
