After leaving Cobh, we drove through the outskirts of Cork City and onto the Blarney Woolen Mills. This stop was quite the adventure! We were only given 2 hours to visit Blarney Castle, kiss the stone of eloquence, grab lunch and shop at the Woolen Mills for souvenirs. We got it all accomplished - with a little running of course! Blarney Castle was beautiful and the gourd and gardens were breathtaking. There was a poison garden were they grow all of the most poisonous plants in the world. Some were used for medicine back in the medievel times. We didn't have time to check all of the gardens out, which is something I would have loved to do, but we did have time to kiss the stone. It took us about a half hour to climb the narrow staircases of the castle to the top. Once we got up to the roof of course it started raining, but it was worth it. I lied down on the wet castle roof, backwards leaning over the edge to kiss the stone as the tradition says to - up side down! The legend says that you receive the gift of eloquence for doing so.

After we were finished at the castle, we headed over to the woolen mills to do some shopping. I bought a beautiful Irish handmade infinity scarf. We grabbed a quiche for lunch then boarded the bus to head to Killarney and checked into our hotel. After dinner, we finally received our luggage!!!! :) :) Tonight we are headed out to a few pubs to here some Irish music - Danny Mans then Sheehan's.
