We said our goodbyes to Natalia and she took us to the train station. She was a very good guide and the visit to Russia would not have been nearly as good without her.  The train ride to Helsinki was pretty smooth with speeds up to 212k/h.  We ate a tasty lunch in the dining car.  We arrived in Helsinki, lugged our stuff to the Sokos Hotel and crashed for a while.  We walked for a while and got some dinner.  Helsinki is a very vibrant town.  There were thousands of people attending some sort of fair with many many vendors around the train station.  We figured out that the festival was something about the "world".  There was a section where there were booths representing crafts or foods from many African nations were set up.  The local black community seemed to be out in force that afternoon.  All the surrounding restaurants and bars around the area seemed to be full, especially in the sidewalk seating.  Too bad we could not have visited the fair a little earlier as they were closing shop about the time we got there.

We're on our second leg of the trip home – Iceland to Seattle.  We will get home to Boise at midnight.  It is midnight in Helsinki right now so I am fading fast.  I will try to get the final posts of this blog as soon as possible.  It was a great adventure.  We did everything we set out to do and more.  We met and had fun with good people.  We had incredible weather.  We saw and experienced some great sites in far away places and now we are very anxious to get home.

All our best to you all,

Con and Linda
