In lessons today we had all changed places, all our name cards had been moved round so we were sitting with someone new. This was interesting, and no problem, because everyone seems to be friends anyway.
We had two presentations today, on the future (plus the future anterieur) and the conditional. These were quite interesting and we played some games to use these tenses afterwards - in one of them you had to predict the future for each other with a pack of cards. The cards said that I wouldn't be visiting the moon...
At breaktime I managed to get another billet vert, the animatrice who came in to give out the notices gave them to everyone - I have decided that I want to try and get at least one a day!
At lunchtime we had the opportunity to have a traditional 'cabane à sucre' meal (i.e beans and maple syrup). The caféteria food really isn't bad but we decided to go to the mall instead to eat. (I rather wanted to try this meal, but the others really weren't very enthusiastic and it would probably be best to try one of these meals somewhere else for the first time anyway). So we went to the mall, planning to come back quickly so that we could join up with some others who were going to 'village de valeur' to buy outfits for the 80s disco that night. Unfortunately it started raining really heavily as we walked to the mall, so we decided just to stay there for that afternoon. We were with Chelsea, Beth, Rebecca, David, Joe, Christina, Sam and Charlotte. We visited quite a few shops, looking for 80s things. Again people were interested in our accents, especially David - he seems to have made it his mission to imitate us (it's quite funny!). We ended up in a shop called 'Urban Planet' which is quite good and I got lots of neon things, sadly I did not have enough cash to buy anything, but David payed and I payed him back later. As a result I didn't get the fluorescent converse boots! But I think I may return for them....!
It was a shame to have missed the trip to value village, but I will definitely be trying to make my way there another day! Kristal went and managed to get a pair of rollerblades for only 5$! I miss my rollerblades, and the campus is ideal for it - full of really wide open roads and flat pavements!
I also didn't manage to get any leg warmers from the mall, the Canadian equivalent of Claire's Accessories (Ardènes) doesn't seem to stock up on them! They only had one pair, and Carys snaffled them! They weren't neon enough anyway!
After a quick dinner back at campus we went to get ready for the disco! The disco was great fun, they had hired a proper DJ who played a mixture of english and french music all night. The disco only went on until 11, but those were three hours of solid dancing in heels (shiny silver) so I was almost glad to stop! Luckily no lasting harm has been done to my feet! They played lots of good music (a favourite is 'Danse la poutine' - it's a hillarious song!) and we danced with lots of different people this time, because we have made lots more friends in the last week.
After we came out Carys, Beth and me sat on the steps for a while. I went in earler than the others because I was too cold - but I missed out on a billet vert! - however, I did need the sleep!
