We got to Karlstad in Sweden on 17 September to spend some time with our friends Lynn & Fredrick. On the way from Norway to Sweden we noticed a change in scenery - the forests, lakes and rivers were all so different to what we'd seen in Norway. We got to Karlstad where Lynn & Fredrick were waiting for us at the station and they took us straight home for a rest. Karlstad isn't a huge city but it is very beautiful. The nearby Lake Vanern is the largest lake in Sweden and is a really amazing site...so beautiful. We went fishing there for a little while and Fredrick even caught a perch there on his first cast! :) We also went for a drive around some cute towns which was great. It was nice to have a relaxing time in Karlstad and spend some time 'just talking' rather than running around a big city. We also tried some Swedish chocolates and potato chips...yum! Swedish chocolate was my favourite of all!!! Then, after two days in Karlstad we headed for Stockholm.
