Today we hired a car and drove around the Island. Our aim was to explore the North Shore and eat at one of the famous Shrimp Trucks. We look our time driving and we saw some beautiful landscapes incliding a guy suspended over the water by a water jetpack. Watersport naturally being the main attactions over here. I was looking forward to doing the parasailing tomorrow.

We found a Shrimp truck and bought a few varieties to try for lunch before heading further to Sunset Beach and Pipeline. Very dangerous beaches with steep drop to deep water. We decided to enjoy the view instead of swimming.

We stocked up on some supplies at the local supermarket. Al happy as he received discount. Boy's and I laughed as it was Seniors day and people over the age of 60 receive a discount. So we headed to Waimea Beach to swim for the rest of the afternoon.

The boy's forever wishing to play a game called "let's get knocked over by Big Wave Dave". Tom even had Al join in. He couldn't see all the fun about being smashed by the waves but played as long as his tired body could handle it.

Dinner was at a town called Hale'wa. A beautiful beach village with crafty shops. Unlucky for me the shops were closed.

North Shore is a beautiful place as it is alot more quieter and a little cheaper however the locals live basically as food on the Island is very expensive due to most of it is imported from main land. (milk $4.15 for 1ltr)

We drove home past the pineapple plantations and Pearl Harbour although the kids had fallen asleep. Saw so many homeless people, which I believe some have chosen that life. Alot of them have their own tent and bike while others slept so close to the roads.
