This was the last night stay away from home on our Boise, Portland, Highway 101, Redwood National Forest trip on our way back to Utah. This last segment has pretty hard. We made that long drive from the Oregon coast where we camped overnight then crossed the Sierras then hit Donners pass at about 11pm and as soon as we crossed the crest of the mountain a bad snow storm started. Luckily we were able to make it down into town before it got too bad but in town it was horrible. We pulled into his house and we wanted to catch up because it had been a long time since we had seen each other, but I was so exhausted from no sleep and so much driving that I literally was falling to sleep as he talked to me. The next day we hung out and watched football for half of the day including the red river rivalry of Oklahoma and Texas. Oklahoma was ranked number one and they ended up being upset. it was an awesome half a day that we spent there but we had to hit the road to get back to our daughter. Luckily the next day the snow was off the road and we were able to hit the road and get back to Utah.
