Where I stayed
Hotel Wielopole
As there were no tours or trains to catch this morning, we had a lazy start to the day, accompanied with a good brekkie in the salt mine-esque restaurant (at the bottom of the hotel) and following the AB match back in NZ. We then walked into the Old Town Square and checked out the trumpeter, followed by going through the main market to do a bit of souvenir shopping. Afterwards we walked north to the Barbikan (via some good ol' Polish street food) and then hopped on the tram to head south in the city towards Schindler’s factory. We had already been here a few months before, but there is so much to process and take in, it was most excellent to see new things and even absorb other things even more. This museum deals mostly with Krakow during World War 2, and of course, Schindler’s factory itself. Once done there we went back over the Vistula to Wawel castle, and wandered around there and down to the dragon – where we finally captured a good fire-breathing-dragon shot! Afterwards we stayed in the neighbourhood and found a restaurant called 'Pod Baranem’ and had another yummy Polish dinner (especially the delicious Krakow version of Zurek soup). Not far from the hotel, we made our way back, had a few night caps, and fell asleep to our last night on the road! Back to our flat & Warsaw tomorrow :)
