Left early for Panama.  Stopped in Neily for breakfast, only place we could find was a fast food chicken place.  Had fried chicken, macaroni salad, hamburger and french fries at 9 am.  Beef here is not good but the chicken is edible.

Continued on down to Panama and went through a really busy town,  Kept going and was stopped at a checkpoint.  Policia standing on sidewalk with a M-16.  We were told we had passed the customs station and couldn't come in with the car.  Made a u-turn and returned to the town called Aduano.  We stopped and asked a young guy for directions and he offered to take us there. He ran while we followed.  He was soon joined by two others who gave us all the information.  He told us that we didn't have the correct paperwork to enter with the car.

The three guys were then paid to show Sara, Courtney and Robby to the duty-free shops.  Don and I waited in the car and made new plans.  Forty-five minutes later they returned with a few items and Courtney had the phone number of one of the guys.  Problem is they don't speak the same language.

We turned around and headed for San Vito, CR.  Drove through the town which is known for it's Italian food.  We found Pizaerria Liliana and stopped for lunch.  We ordered pepperoni pizza that was really good.  Soccer was on so we stayed and watched the game.  The waitress told us about a hotel to stop at so Don and Robby went in search of it while we went window shopping. We are finding that prices here are the same as US.

It began to rain so we ducked into a store to wait.  We heard a loud scream and looked out and a woman carrying a baby had slipped in the rain and dropped the baby on the sidewalk and had fallen herself.  The baby was screaming, people were running.  I was ready to run out and help her but people were already there.

Robby came running to get my umbrella to put Don in the car and then brought us all umbrellas.  He is so sweet. The rain is getting aggravating now.

Robby told us they had found a hotel and already checked us in.  We then went in search for Wilson Botanical Gardens that we planned to go to the next morning.

We came back to Hotel El Ceibo and found it very quaint.  The rooms were nice and overlooked trees where there were supposed to be parrots.

We all went to the lobby and set up our computers again and had dinner.

We were all in our own worlds when Sara looked at us and asked if we had just seen a clown stick his head in the lobby door to which Courtney and I both said no.  She said she wasn't crazy that a clown stuck his head in, waved and had taken an umbrella.  We didn't believe her so she went to find him and he wasn't there.  He did later come back and took a picture with Courtney.

Trivia:  They don't use garbage cans here.  They have these iron boxes that they put their trash in.  A lot of houses don't have them so since most houses have bars across the front they hang their bags of garbage on the front of their homes.

Lobby closed at 10 so we went up to bed.

Added miscellaneous pictures.
