After a long and drawn out plane trip we arrived in Europe for the final leg of our trip.  After travel for 10 months in some pretty hard countries we had a little bit of culture shock the first day.  Everyone is so nice and not trying to rip you off which is such a change. And the public transportation here is a dream.  :)

On our first day in Athens we took in the National museum and I loved it.  The the Greek history with hundreds of statues in marble and bronze took us 4 hours to see.  Such a change of pace compared to Africa where it was parks and not many museums.

On the second day it was off to the Acropolis.  Very grand sitting up on the hill, with the Parthenon pretty incredible.  We enjoyed our day walking around the ruins and seeing the Temple of Olympian Zeus and Ancient Agora.  The nice thing about being here at this time is the big sights are all relatively empty.  We practically get them to ourselves!  It's a bit cool though.

Ventured to Cape Sounion, a few hours from Athens, the next day.  We were reminded of how relaxing traveling is and are going to just enjoy the moment for these last few months!

Enjoy the pictures and sorry about being so behind on the blog!
