Aug 14-15
Calvin and Latha left for Thailand while Jesma and Lorin stayed two more days.  We went "upscale" and paid a whopping $70 US per night to treat ourselves before having to return back to Calgary and work.  Our hotel, Casa San Martin was quite nice, and we checked out more museums including one with erotic pottery.  Crazy Incas...  Good luck guys with the rest of your trip!

Well, when Lorin and Jesma were relaxing in Lima we had the epic journey to South East Asia.  Our original path was to take us from Lima to Fort Lauderdale, to New York, to Taipei, and then finally to Bangkok.  Even if this route was to go with no problems it would be a long couple of days.  We made it to Fort Lauderdale without incident.  We even managed to ship a souvenir package home!  That's where the smooth sailing ended.  There were lightning storms in New York which delayed our flight numerous times.  After boarding the plane 3 hours late, we sat on the runway for 2 hours, and then were told to get off.  A few hours later, our flight did leave, but by that time we had missed our connector to Bangkok.

Delta airlines was absolutely awful (don't fly with them!), and after waiting two and half hours for the check in counter to open, we finally got a chance to rebook our flights at 5:00am.  The new route was even longer than before (if you can imagine) - NY to LA to Taipei to Bangkok.  AGH.

The long long story short is, we made it Thailand after 3 days of traveling, but our luggage did not.  Surprise surprise.  And thanks to the liquids and gel restriction, we didn't smell too great either.  Ugh.  Right now we are crossing our fingers that we will once again we reunited with our great travel gear.
