We said goodbye to the Norwegian fjords, as we headed to Bergen today. It was an overcast morning, with light rain. Our trip to Bergen included one last ferry ride across the Sognefjord. It also included many more waterfall sightings and quite a few tunnels.

We got into Bergen around 12:30pm. It took a few tries to actually find the apartment we would be staying in, as the streets of Bergen can be a bit confusing and we were attempting it without the GPS, as we didn't have the charger for it and very little battery left. Ultimately, we pulled out the GPS and were able to find the apartment.  We were met there by the landlords, shown the apartment, and took all of our luggage in.

After getting a little settled, Steve B., Patty, and Steve C. headed out to find lunch for the group, as Dad needed to get some rest. We were soon back with some seafood for everyone and enjoyed our lunch in the apartment. The weather had actually gotten worse and we were told by our landlord that Bergen was expecting a few inches of rain in the next 24 hours.

We headed out to the funicular after finishing lunch, as it looked like tomorrow's weather may actually be worse than today's. Steve and Steve dropped Sue, Patty, and Dad at the funicular and then looked for a place to park the van. Let me tell you, this was a challenge. At one point we found ourselves "behind the scenes" of the Bruce Springsteen tour!  We had taken a turn down a lane looking for parking and realized the other end of the lane was blocked off and filled with the tractor trailers Bruce's tour was using to set up their concerts for the next two nights here in Bergen.

Ultimately, we were able to find a spot and walk back to the funicular. We bought our tickets and headed up 1,000 feet for an overlook of the city. Once on top, the weather was not good. It was very windy and rainy. It was difficult to even take pictures, even though we could see the city below us just fine. As a result, our time spent at the overlook was limited and we soon found ourselves back in town looking for a place for dinner.

We quickly found a spot, had some dinner and headed back to the apartment to get out of the rain and call it an early night.

We're hoping for some better weather tomorrow. We'll see...

Hey Mike, the trip has definitely been amazing. We just pulled into Copenhagen today, after spending almost a week in Norway.
