Where I stayed
With only one day to explore Yosemite by foot – it was challenging to decide which walk to do. In the end we decided on a 5.5 hour hike up to Verna Falls and then onto Nevada Falls. A decent 11km hike in which we ascended 2000 ft followed by a 2000 ft descent. It was an enjoyable walk once we had burnt off the gazillion other bushwalkers who were also doing the same walk!
Two km into the walk I suffered a major wardrobe malfunction with the rubber of my hiking boot coming adrift from the sole. Being a ex-girl guide I improvised and wrapped a hair elastic around the front of the boot – that seemed to do the trick for the remainder of the journey.
It started with a steep uphill climb to Verna Bridge and a short levelling out before we pushed on to greater heights and even more magnificent views. But I'll leave the text………….the pictures say it so much better.
