We left Holton this morning at 8:30. We had a great visit with the family...sorry that it was so short. Chase is looking forward to going back again in November to go hunting with Uncle Brad and Papaw.

Now that the trip is basically over, we're all pretty anxious to get home. Two and a half more days of driving. The end is in sight. The camper is going to need a complete overhaul...inside and out. I have 4 large garbage bags full of laundry! I'm not sure how we went 26 days and have only done 3 loads of laundry. Why can't I do that at home?

Taylor has informed me of her social calendar for the week we return. Between cheerleading practicing and catching up with friends and boyfriend, I don't think we'll see her until the following weekend! LOL

Today we drove across Kansas and Missouri on I-70. When we stopped for lunch in Missouri we could tell that we were getting closer to home...back to humidity! Yuck! I didn't miss it one bit. I have decided that my ideal weather is in San Diego.

We made it to Casey, Illinois by 6:30. It was a treat getting in so early. Today was the first day we had rain on our trip. It was good for the people in Casey, Illinois, but not so much for the kids, who were hoping to swim.

Because of the rain we decided to eat in our campers and just relax the rest of the evening. Chase, Dan, Lana, and McKayla went to an all-you-can-eat ice cream social. We watched movies, took showers, and then off to bed.

A day and a half of driving...and then we're home sweet home! Taylor has decided that 26 days on the road is REALLY long. She's ready to be home. I'm just happy that we all survived being with each other 24/7. It gets pretty intense at times...but it's all good!
