Walked around some more. Kids convinced me to get a walking stick to use when I have my foot surgery. So, we went back and I got one too with my first name and Zermatt 2009 on it.
Caught special train to take us down mountain. This train instead of huge windows, had windows that opened and went down.
We opened our windows and stuck our heads out of the train for the whole 2hour descent. In some ways, it was better to be able to do that. Alex took command of my camera, and shot a ton of photos. I got to stand and enjoy.....
Got to VISP and took train to Brig. Qucik lunch for boys and then headed from Brig to Milano. Again, only ones in our compartments. Kids have a whole routine down that scares anyone who looks in. Alex has yet to do the Harri Krishna routine he practiced. He also carries the darn shower cap with him, but I am sure if someone touched the door handle, the whole act would unfold and I would simply bury my head into a book...
Milan to Bologna was express train. Man charged us some type of Italian surcharge. You are at the mercy of these train guys when they do that. YOu do not know if it is honest, but you can not fight on the train, and they always want cash... HMMMMM
Kids were happy to be back at home. Me too, they needed space. I neeeded some realxation time Parenting two boys alone and keeping it fresh, having them get along and providing an educational experience can be tiring. So, I too, am happy to relax.
Tomorrow is laundry day, groceries and trying to figure out how to get to Rome on the 19th for a 9 AM flight....
Best Memory-- sticking heads out of train from Zermatt to VISP .....
