We left DC and headed towards the Shenandoah Valley National Park.  The park was beautiful and offered a range of hikes through out its length (approx 105 miles)..we only did about 65 miles of it and two of the hikes..both just enough.  We later reached Charlottesville and took in the town which is home to UVA - It is an amazing campus.  The heat finally broke into a terrible rain storm and we sought refuge at a local pub named the Horse and Hound where Brian quickly wished he was back in college and one of the guys sucking down the "boots" of beer offered at the bar...see pix.  I would like to mention that we had dinner at C&O in the historic district of Charlottesville - because..it was our best meal yet...and because Brian is convinced the guy sitting next to us was a celebrity evangelist...he was obsessed over it.  The next morning we toured UVA, the campus is truly impressive and inviting!
