Home at last!
The morning that I arrived home the Superquin sausages, the Galtee rashers, the Clonakilty white & black pudding, the Irish mushrooms and the fried Irish potatoes were had for a big decent fry up, sure there is no better way to say that you are home. Especially when you taste a decent sausage after so many horrible ones around the world. Then the following evening after getting home and having a few drinks with the lads I ended up having the Chinese curry sauce with chicken balls and chips, yummy. The thing is I don't think it's an oriental dish at all cause nowhere else in the world serves it!
After a heart felt emotional weekend where I got to see how much my nephews and nieces had grown and witnessed how they all have became bigger rascals I was back into work to find out what changes had under went while I was away. Sure it was the same as ever, everyone was busy and I even managed to slot back into my old desk once more surrounded by the same old faithful team struggling hard to keep ahead of the SOX requirements.
In relation to my friends, there was no real news: sure I'm the centre point for all my friends and if I'm not there they do nothing.........ok maybe not exactly I think when you're living day to day in a working environment you don't realise the things that happen right in front of you and you begin to put things down for bog standard events. So to correct myself there was plenty of exciting news while I was away: Gemma got her exams, Paul bought a house and Cherrie and Barry got engaged and they are only the things that come to mind now I'm sure there were many other things that people didn't note as notable news to myself and to the others who were away.
To tell you the truth there are to many highlights from my trip to mention them all and it is to difficult to select but a few of them. I don't think people realise the number of adventures that one can have in a minute don't mind an hour or even a day, a week or a month or even 6 months. And although you try to tell them all or write all your stories down for people to catch a glimpse of the adventures that you had, they just can't be captured. So expect for the rest of my life to hear the following line from me: "This one time at band camp.......", ok 'at band camp' should be replaced by:
* In Thailand.....
* In Cambodia.....
* In Vietnam.....
* In Laos.....
* In Koh Samui, on Paddys day.....
* In Koh Panaghan at the Full Moon Party.....
* In Koh Tao.....
* In Singapore.....
* In Australia.....
* In New Zealand.....
* In Fiji.....
* In New York.....
And in many more undefined places something magical, amazing, remarkable and even shit happened to me, and I take this moment to apologise for that! But all those stories have redefined me in some way and I'm proud of the fact and glad that I got the chance to experience and live this once off dream. I may never get the chance again to do something to the extent of what I experienced in the last 6 months but I'm sure that I will have many more adventures. To end of this travel blog I'll finish with the Lord of the Rings quote that I had at the beginning, just because I'm not travelling at the moment each day has a new adventure and a chance to meet someone new, so as Bilbo Baggins says: "I think I'm quite ready for another adventure!".
Thank you for taking your time to read this blog and I hope you gained some understanding of the adventures that I had along my journey. If you are still out traveling keep in touch as I want to hear the stories, if I met you abroad please keep in touch cause I need something to keep my own travel dreams alive, if you're coming over to Ireland let me know as I want to go out for a few drinks and so on. So on a final farewell note I may not have found inner enlightment but I certainly enjoyed myself, thank you all for reading this blog and can't wait to write another blog.
