Monteverde, what a great place. I came here because to meet up with my summer-camp buddying, Michelle Davies, is working as a student missionary here at a small Adventist school. She is pretty set up living with one of the original founders of this now-famous community 50 years ago with a group of Quakers from the states. After arriving to the most beautiful house I have seen thus far in Costa Rica (I even had a piano in my room) Michelle and I went out for a day exploration. After some choco mint (chocolate chip) ice cream from the world famous cheese factory in Monteverde, we walked down the street and ordered smoothies (if you have never had a peanut butter, banana smoothie you havent lived yet). Then, full of energy we headed out and spent the next couple hours or so wandering through Marys land enjoying the beautiful views, watching monkeys steal sugar cane, and climbing the climbing tree. We eventually ended back up at Marys house just in time for some ginger peach tea... hmmm! But I think the best part about the whole experience was being able to take a warm shower for the first time in 6 weeks! Back to the states I go from here...
