My wife's family is from Okayama, and she has relatives who live there. We visited her families grave site, and her cousin was good enough to drive us around to show us Himeji Castle, Kurashiki (used often for samurai movies), and other locations.
Okayama also known for having one of the most beautiful Japanese gardens in Japan.
