OCT 23: Patmos is a small island in the Aegean Sea with a population of 3,000. Patmos is mentioned in the book of Revelation in the Bible, and is believed that John the Apostle lived here around 100AD, and visitors can see the cave where John supposedly received his Revelation (of the Apocalypse), and several monasteries on the island are dedicated to St John.

Our only exposure to this island was our short walk in the small port town of Skala a few blocks wide at the waterfront with the small shops and some restaurants. We sat for some time at an outside cafe drinking beer and smoking a cigar to watch the world go by. A well-fed dog wondered about and sat on the main road without a care in the world, knowing that all the vehicles would stop for him.
I walked 3.6 miles today.

Back at the ship that evening, we were invited to the Captain's cocktail party.  The dinner was also special; caviar for my appetizer, lobster for my entree, and cake and coffee for dessert.
