Today was an $80 optional tour to the one-time capital of Cetinje, located north-west from Kotor, and well worth the money.

APR 7; Cetinje. When the travel company's brochure described this trip as “Enjoy a scenic uphill ride that culminates in spectacular view of Kotor Bay” who could refuse? The scenery and views were spectacular, and probably one of the best Kodak photo spots on the whole trip.
We also had a visit in the village of Njegsi, famous for their home grown delicacies of smoked ham and cheese, we were able to sample them with wine, beer, or soft drink before continuing on to Cetinje. Their prosciutto and cheese were delicious!
Cetinje sits nestled at the foot of Mount Lovcen and surrounded by steep hills. Our guided tour of King Nikola's Palace was somewhat disappointing with its conservative building and interior. We observed snow on the ground. Even the furnishings and draperies felt "heavy" and unappealing - to me. The small palace was built from 1863 to 1867 in some elements of neoclassicism. The entrance hall houses the crown jewels, considered the most popular exhibit of the museum.
We had some free time to roam around the town's main street, and several of us had refreshments at a local cafe.
