TANGERMUNDE:
Nov 13: Tangermunde is a small village that was established over 1000 years ago. The city wall with their well-fortified gates are well preserved. The castle complex with its tower has a good view of the Elbe River. Some of the timbered houses with intentionally slanted second floors (see building 3) cannot be explained, but are fascinating to see. The statue of Grete Minde is located next to Town Hall. Grete Minde is novel written by Theodor Fontane; it's about a girl accused of arson, and was executed in 1619..
The photographs will have to be the blog; it's quaint, old and lopsided buildings, the fortress, and the August Bebel Strasse, the main street with the shops, city hall, and St Stephens Church tells everything about this village.
