SEP 27: One of the major visits of this journey was to Ephesus, the best-preserved classic Roman city in Asia. Ephesus dates to 1300 BC and was the capital and commerce city of Roman Asian Minor with a population of 300,000. Highlights of the visit are the walk on the Marble Way, view of the two-storied Library of Celsus, the two theateres, and the Roman open toilet for socializing. The Great Theater, the largest structure in Ephesus, is where Paul of Tarsus stood trial for bringing
Christianity to the area. The temple of Artemis (Diana) built in 550BC (location identified by a pole) is the city's claim to antiquity, and one of the seven wonders of the world.
