I try to visit our son in Austin biennially to spend some time with him, and to learn what he's been doing and planning for the future. During my past visits, we have traveled down to San Antonio, and ate at some of the best restaurants Austin has to offer. I've also been a member of able2know chat site, and have met with other members for meets, meals, and drinks. On this trip, a young family from Austin and I drove to Houston to visit their science museum, and to meet with another a2k member and his wife for dinner. I even went to the Congress Street bridge one evening before sunset to see the famous bats. This visit was also important, because I was able to meet up with my old air force buddy, Jerry, who I met in the late fifties while we were both stationed in Morocco. He drove in from Terrell, and stayed with his a daughter and her family in Austin. We all enjoyed dinner one night, and Jerry and I spent a few hours before we both headed for home.
