Yet another busy day!
Today, we headed to the very sandy Tsampika beach about 20 minutes drive away just outside Archangelos.  It would be fair to say that I was blown away by this beach - quiet, lovely hot sand, warm water, perfect............
Spent some time chilling there before heading back to the hotel for a spot of lunch!.  Had a nice lunch (think I'm really going to be over-dosing on feta!) then a brief siesta before commencing with the afternoon.  It's handy to have the siesta, as I struggle with spending too much time in peak sunshine.

After the Siesta, we headed off to the western side of the island to explore Monolithos castle.  The drive took about 45 minutes, we drove through some interesting little villages then approached Monolithos.  First vista point, got a lovely view of the monastry.  We then headed into Monolithos village itself & then headed up the rocky path to the little chapel.  The views out to sea were beautiful, the sun was starting to dip ,lower in the sky, so the effect over the water was incredible.
After savouring the panoramic views we headed back down to the car.  As Prassonissi beach was only about 15 minutes drive away, we headed out that way to check it out.
First impressions, full of character, very windy (got sand-blasted legs!) & a kite surfer/wind surfer paradise.  Just watching some of the kite surfing tricks, wow........maybe one day I can get to do something like that, and with a pink kite!?
We had a wander round, looking at the various kites parked on the beach.  It was well into the evening by now, so we stayed to watch the sunset & the moon rise........what a sunset!!!
Once the sun went down, and because the wind was strong, it began to feel a little cold lol (what!? cold in the med!).
We headed out of Prassonissi then pondered over what to do for dinner.  We went up to Afandou, and had dinner in a wonderful little greek cafe :-).  My boyfriend pointed out a kind of lasagne dish that I should try, and grilled cheese.  So I had those on his recommendation - they were delicious!! so good to be a bit more adventurous and try something outside of souvlaki lol.
We then went to a nice roof top bar, which I don't remember the name of! for some cocktails - it was very much a locals place, but was friendly.  The cocktails even came out with sparklers!!
Time to head back to the hotel after a lovely day :-) maybe plan something for tomorrow.........
