Where I stayed
For the first time in 6 months I'm back on U.S. soil! Red meat and good bourbon...oh joy! After 20 hours on a plane I checked into the Four Seasons to wash 6 months of India off me and proceeded straight to Chipotle for some decent guacamole. It's amazing how the little things seem/look/taste/feel so good after 6 months in India. Even though I was exhausted, I managed to gather the strength to meet Nanda, Diana, Stacey, Ruben, David and a few others at the Loon for a much needed hamburger, Makers Mark and good conversation. It was great to see my good friends again and Stacey even bought me a tshirt to welcome me home...love my munkee!
The next morning it was up bright and early to catch my flight to Austin for the ACL or the Austin City Limits music festival
After Austin I visited family in Oklahoma and Florida where I caught up with family, saw my dog and ate way, way too much good steak, seafood and proper home cooking. Saw a real live cattle drive in Oklahoma and caught a few fish in Florida too. After a few days with the fam I jetted off to Phoenix for a business meeting. In Phoenix I connected back up with some of my old Consulting colleagues including a night out with the Sangster where we hit the casino's where Brandon walked away way up! Including a last minute bet of $150 where I hit blackjack! Woo hoo! The Biltmore hotel in Phoenix rocks by the way...wish I could have stayed there a bit longer
Flew back to Dallas for 3 nights with my friends including Ruben, Munkee, Victoria, Yoshi and Nanda...great to see them all. While in Dallas I also stocked up on goodies including two huge bottles of Makers Mark and 6 boxes of red wine (equivallent of 24 bottles!). Needless to say my suitcase was heavy!
Alas, after two hectic weeks (and 6 different beds) in the US it was time to get back on a Lufthansa flight on Friday the 28th-September bound for India. Great times in the US...but looking forward to getting back on a schedule in India...including some much needed gym time to work off all this added weight in "proper" American food and drink!
