That is until this past weekend when Hyderabad welcomed the opening of the F Bar. F Bar is a franchise bar partially owned/operated by F TV (Fashion TV) which is a popular TV station on Indian cable/satelitte. My Aussie friend Rebecca (Bec) just got a job doing some promotion for F Bar and as a result, I received an invitation to the grand opening...lucky me
. The invitation was delivered to me at work and as it turns out, nearly all of my friends in town either have an invite or have a connection to get in to the opening..so the whole gang is going. We do a little pre-partying at my place with Sonny, Ails, Rev, Veejay and Eesha atending before hopping into my SUV and making the short drive to F Bar. As we're walking into the building, the India papparazzi was in full swing snapping photo's of everyone entering the bar. Once inside the party was in full swing and the bar was open and free for all us VIP guests. There was some "semi-famous" DJ from the States...I wasn't impressed with her spinning skills. To be honest the reason she's somewhat famous has more to do with how she looks than how she spins (evidently she's been in Playboy and Maxim magazines....google DJ Diamond if you want to see more of her).
The party was good, the drinks flowed like a river and the dancing was hot and sweaty. We all had a great time and even made some new friends as you'll see in my pics. Of course as is typical here, the place shut down by midnight. But I can tell F Bar will become a popular hangout for our group.
Just a short blog today...enjoy the pics!
Some of you have already seen these pics, but I thought it was worth a blog entry as well. The nightlife in Hyderabad for me pretty much revolves around three places....Liquids, Touch and Ahala. Every now and then we will go to a pub called Firingi Pani...and once or twice I've been to Myst, Ten Downing Street or Bottles n' Chimneys. There's an after hours place on the outskirts of town called Treasure Island that is really the only public bar that is open past midnight. The above list is pretty much the sum total of bars/clubs in Hyderabad...there exist no others in this town of nearly 4 million.
