The past three weeks have been full of hundreds of tasks leading up to my eventual flight to India on March 30th.  Everything you can think of from closing accounts, changing addresses, selling my car, seeing friends in Tulsa, seeing family in Florida to enjoying my favorite restaurants before subjecting my body to Indian food for two years.

One thing that I was indeed looking forward to was the going away party for family my parents in Oklahoma were throwing for me.  This was the first opportunity in a long, long time that all my dad's brothers and sisters were getting together...in addition to a whole bunch of cousins I haven't seen in at least a decade.  Plus...it gave my dad a good chance to embarrass me...which he did his best to do...in a fun way of course.  There was of course a banner or two one of which gave me a new Indian name (Raj Bahrat), a small diorama of the differences between the US and India, a gift tshirt proclaiming "You say Redneck like it's a bad thing"...and my favorite item...a huge sword that looks straight out of a Indian Jones movie.  My contribution to the party was some Indian and Thai beer...other than that, I just enjoyed hanging out with the fam and catching up with people I haven't seen in a while.  I think everyone had a good time and hopefully the pictures reflect that.

Only one more week to go...and my task list is still full of crap to check off before the 30th.
