Where I stayed
I'm going to give a little background before I talk about our activities today.
Back in 1961 George and his brother Richard was in the Army in Germany at different Army bases. In November 1961, Richard was killed in a jeep accident and George (just 19 years old at the time) had to go to Richard's Army base and bring his body home to the U.S. Many years later, George's nephew Mark Buzzell was searching through genealogy records and he came across a website called "cold war casualities" and found stories about the accident as it was told by other servicemen in Richard's unit. To make a long story short, we contacted one of Richard's buddy's who wrote his rembrances of the accident and who lived in Tennessee and today we had the wonderful occasion to visit with him and his lovely wife. They only live a short distance from Antioch so they invited us to dinner and we had a chance to hear his account of the accident and what a wonderful happy fellow he remembered Richard to be. It was truly special to George to met John G.
