Where I stayed
Today we left Custer, SD and travelled through the Badlands in SD. It truly lives up to it's name as it is a very desolate area with "Warning...Rattlesnakes" everywhere. I didn't venture off the boardwalks at all. It was unique and pretty in it's own way, but I wouldn't want to run of out gas out there.
From there we travelled on Interstate 90 to Mitchell, SD about 1/2 way across the state. We are going to see the Corn Palace. It's a huge building that they decorate every year with corn stalks.
Very impressive as all the murals are completely down with corn.
Since today was a day of travelling, not a whole lot to see except hay bales in the fields along the way. Temperature today was in the 90's. This evening we are getting tornado warnings in the area and it's very heavy rain outside with the skies very ominous looking. Never seen rain sheeting across the parking lot like this before. I think they said 70 mph winds.
